We are now looking to adopt the schooling and education of children in the more remote and hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
We plan to set up learning and coaching centers to support the schooling and subsequent professional training of these children.
We are looking to start small educational centers in remote villages where there are no schools close by and send graduate teachers to teach at these centers.
These efforts in education will be supported by holding medical camps and small health education workshops so as to make sure the children also learn the basics of hygiene and self-care. On board of our voluntary team we have doctors who are medical professionals and have also complimented their practice with yoga and Reiki to bring in holistic health to all. Besides academic education and medical care we plan to hold camps and workshops to impart knowledge of yoga , meditation , Reiki and child psychology.
The tracking and reporting on the utilization of funds is presently done at two levels. Firstly, an onsite supervision and feedback on the children and secondly financial record of each child whereby the utilization of funds on each child is monitored. These two parameters are then corelated in terms of the children’s performance and funds utilized at the individual and each institutional level. Performance and goals achieved must be in consonance with money spent. Indicators such as academic performance, participation in sports, extracurricular activities etc are used for assessment of goals achieved.
This methodology has been extended with increase in number of children. Presently four of the trustees themselves visit the schools and interact with the school staff and children. As numbers and activities increase more staff for onsite visits would be engaged and the feedback monitored by the trustees.
Increase in the activities would include setting up of schools where none exist or are not easily accessible. This would entail enhanced supervision and monitoring, not only of the children but of the functioning of the school as well. The academic input, the quality of the teachers and teaching, the financials of utilization of funds in terms of capital expenditure as also the daily running expenses of the school would have to be overseen and watched closely. Besides the periodic personal visits by the four trustees, professionally trained school administrators and accountants would be employed.
As has been mentioned earlier personal supervision by the four trustees and monthly reporting of each child by the school authorities in every aspect would constitute the core of our activities. Each trustee carries a personal responsibility in the running of the project and the utilization of the funds.
This would be operationalized by a two-tier system of administration.
The ground level administration would be monitored by professionally qualified supervisors who would then report to the trustees.
The trustees would collate this information and reports and carry out periodical direct onsite checks to ensure integrity of the reports and the reporting system.
This information and reports would be submitted periodically to the FIDI Charity mission office. These reports would be discussed and the feedback and suggestions incorporated in our subsequent functioning.
As part of welcoming the new entrants into our Academic Adoption Programme, the children recently came together for a joyful picnic at Vatika, Rishikesh. Set amidst nature and laughter, the gathering offered a gentle space for connection, reflection, and the sharing of dreams.
During the picnic, the children spoke openly about their aspirations—to study further in good schools, to build secure futures, and to grow through education. Many shared how their academic journeys had been interrupted not by lack of ability or effort, but by financial limitations that made quality education feel beyond reach. The inability to afford school fees, learning resources, and related expenses had become a significant obstacle along their path.
This simple day of togetherness became a powerful reminder of why the Academic Adoption Programme exists—not only to provide financial assistance, but to restore confidence, belonging, and hope. By listening to their voices and understanding their challenges, we reaffirm our commitment to walking alongside each child as they move forward.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those whose support allows us to turn these shared wishes into achievable realities. Every contribution helps remove barriers and opens doors to education, dignity, and opportunity.
With gratitude,
Team Healing with Feeling Charitable Trust
